Am I a week early on this? Yes. Is this me being in denial that there is more to this month and needing it to come to an end immediately? Yes, thank you very much.
Now, let's get into it—
What I'm cooking and eating:

It was feeling like our family hadn't left our neighborhood for weeks, so we took a Saturday and went to the reopening of Ohana Superette in Silverlake and ordered their Poké, which was the perfect lunch, and the space was stunning. 10/10 recommend.
I mentioned this on my last Substack, but I really want to make very clear that the Jambon Beurre from Maison Matho is the most perfect sandwich. The bread! The butter! The ham! The pickles! I'm still thinking about it, it made me really, really happy.
At home, we've been cooking a lot of Saturday Table. The recipes are delicious, easy enough to make on a weekday after work with an almost 3-year-old, and the way she writes is very intuitive and easy to follow along. This month we made the Mediterranean three-bean salad (seen below!), Spicy, saucy salmon and white beans alla vodka, Golden roast chicken & the dreamiest Dijon beans, and Pesto parmesan zucchini soup with sausage "croutons". All absolutely perfect, nourishing, and beautiful meals.
For Father's Day, we went to Denny's, a now tradition, and made this gorgeous Jalapeño-orange pork tenderloin with snap peas by Ali Slagle.

What I'm wearing:
I purchased these Gimaguas Oahu pants during the SSENSE sale before they sold out (1 pair left in a XL) and it was a very, very good decision — I've been wearing them constantly. They are comfy, yet still sheer so they feel a little sexy, no matter how much I try to dress them down, which makes them super versatile in my closet. My favorite combo recently has been with a dainty antique cotton top (really good options here and here) with Havaianas and a straw bag.

Merit launched a tinted sunscreen, and the coverage and glow are really good. For everyday use, it feels a little heavier than I prefer—it's perfect when I want more of a "full face makeup" feeling (yes, I know that's silly to say about a tinted moisturizer, but my makeup use is very minimal, and not because I don't think I need it but because I absolutely suck at applying it). Most days I'm still staying true to the Good Weather Skin SPF with a little of the Fara Homidi Concealer compact.
I've been putting this giant flower brooch on my most simple outfits, and it makes me feel more in control and like myself when all I can muster is keeping on the t-shirt I slept in the night before and pants. We celebrate all the wins we can get here.
Finally, I'm thankful that a big part of me being a sane, patient, and functioning person lately is due to working out—and what makes working out even better? Feeling hot while doing it. A very good, very simple workout onesie with a low back here.
What I'm looking forward to:
A time when I won't be sleep-deprived (hello, 3-year-old sleep regression?), not being on the verge of punching someone or having a panic attack from the news, our entire family traveling in for our daughter's birthday; my husband's birthday and taking a cute, short 24-hour trip to Vegas to celebrate; and lastly, a very much needed haircut after what feels like a hair-pulling binge.
Kindly and honestly yours,
-m
Those pants are great. Thanks for the brand intro. Wild silk - oo la la. Daisy will be THREE! Omg. I need to come visit!
Those Gimaguas pants!!!! The fooooood. And I am in disbelief that Daisy is almost three. We’re right behind you with Soleil. HOW?! Would be so fun to get these girls together one day. And PS if this is a new series, I am so here for it.
